Lessons with our guests

On Thursday our guests continued  their lessons with the students. High school students and the students of junior high school had the opportunity to visit the most beautiful places in Greece, Albania, Indonesia and Turkey. Many of them began to dream of holidays on one of the fabulous islands of Indonesia, not necessarily Bali. In Indonesia there are over 17.000 paradise islands so the choice is enormous. Thanks to Daphne, we had the chance to review the Greek history from the antiquity to modern times, and we also learned the letters of the Greek alphabet. The lessons with our guests are also good fun - some students could learn the steps of traditional Turkish and Albanian dances, or sing the song from Indonesia. The students who are responsible for documenting the project activities were on the class trip, so the photos of today's lessons were taken by Ms Justyna Strzelec. You will be able to see all of them soon.

Let's start!

Today our foreign guests had a day full of lessons. They did it in two different classes. Bohadir worked with Aditya, and Xhorxhina shared  the classroom with Daphne. They were talking about their countries using not only their presentations or photos, but also showing really interesting films. Personally, I fell in love with Greece. Daphne introduced us to Greek alphabet and taught us a few basic expressions in this language. Bohadir also told us about Turkish language, and he translated some of the words from Turkish into Polish suprisingly well. After a few hours of lectures, they could try our food in the school canteen and they seemed to enjoy it. After the first day of classes, it appears that our guests made everyone fascinated with their countries and cultures. Later that day, they went to the castle together with their Polish friends to visit the apartment of princess Daisy.

Welcome to Pszczyna!

The first day of our guests’ visit started with a formal welcome which took place in our school canteen. Students of 2B group told visitors from Greece, Indonesia, Turkey and Albania about our school and then projected a film about ZS nr 1 and our LipDub. Finally, Ms Pszonak – the headteacher – thanked the visitors for their arrival, emphasised the importance of the project for the school and wished everyone all the best.
Next, students showed the school to the volunteers. They were invited to see the headteacher’s office, teacher's room, library, a number of laboratories (IT, History, Geography and Language) and the football pitch. In the end all the groups took a photo.
After the official part, we showed our guests round Pszczyna. The first place to visit was the park. The volunteers were delighted with it and took a lot of fantastic photos. Then we went to the meeting with the deputy of Pszczyna Mayor, Mrs Barbara Sopot-Zembok, who welcomed our volunteers very warmly and gave them souvenirs. After a pizza in K2, we went to the European Bison Reservation. Our guests were amazed by the animals which could be seen there.

Tomorrow  Aditya Saputra, Bahadır Recep Acar, Daphne  Drouga and Xhorxhina Qirjiollari are to run classes in  1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 2C, 3A, 3C, 3D  and 3E of Upper Secondary.

First day

On the first day of the 7-day ENTER YOUR FUTURE project, Xhorxhina Qirjiolari was the first to come to Pszczyna. After the last dinner with her "old" host family, the girl went to meet  her new one. She told us about her journey in Poland: about the places she had seen and the people she had met. After a few minutes, Xhorxhina went with her new friend Klaudia to her new home.

The second person to arrive was Bahadir from Turkey. After a long farewell with his previous host family, he finally came to us. He told us about the trip to Cracow and some other places whose names couldn’t repeat. We told him about the programme for this week and he seemed to find it attractive. After meeting his new host family and taking a few photos with Faustyna, they drove away. A bit later two last guests: Aditya Saputra from Indonesia and Daphne Drouga from Greece arrived. Both of them were warmly welcomed by their new host families.
Tomorrow we're welcoming them at our school and showing them Pszczyna. And on Tuesday they start conducting their lessons about their countries, culture and traditions.
